China's central financial firms to raise 360 billion yuan in capital

Eight central financial enterprises in China have announced plans to raise a total of 360 billion yuan to replenish their core tier-one capital. This systemic move aims to strengthen the risk resistance and service capabilities of major financial institutions to support the real economy.

Major commercial banks, including the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and the Agricultural Bank of China, plan to issue A-shares to specific entities, including the Ministry of Finance and China Tobacco. ICBC intends to raise up to 100 billion yuan, while the Agricultural Bank of China aims for up to 160 billion yuan.

The Ministry of Finance will also inject capital into policy-based financial institutions, providing 30 billion yuan to the Export-Import Bank of China and 10 billion yuan to the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation.

In the insurance sector, the Ministry of Finance will inject 35 billion yuan into China Life Insurance Group and 7 billion yuan into China Taiping. Additionally, PICC will raise up to 15 billion yuan through A-share issuance, and China Re will receive a 3 billion yuan cash injection from the Ministry of Finance. To support these efforts, the Ministry of Finance plans to issue 300 billion yuan in special treasury bonds.
