CXMT Secures DRAM Supply for PC Makers Through 2027 Amid Global Memory Crunch
ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), the Chinese DRAM manufacturer, has booked its entire production capacity through the end of 2027. Major PC makers—including Dell, HP, Lenovo and Apple—have secured long‑term allocations, while smaller brands face difficulty obtaining modules. CXMT is projected to produce 350,000‑375,000 DRAM wafers per month by late 2026, a level that could rival Micron's output. The surge is driven by AI‑intensive workloads that have shifted demand toward high‑bandwidth memory (HBM) and raised global DRAM prices to historic highs. Relaxed U.S.–China tensions have delayed potential export‑control actions, enabling CXMT to expand. The company’s $8.6 billion IPO and a roadmap to increase market share aim to challenge the established “Big Three” (Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron) in the DRAM market.
