China's National Health Commission warns against illegal anti-aging blood therapies
China's National Health Commission has issued a warning against medical institutions that use plasma exchange and ozone therapy for anti-aging or sub-health conditioning in healthy individuals. Spokesperson Hu Qiangqiang stated that such practices are illegal and constitute the unauthorized use of medical technology and devices.
Monitoring has revealed that some facilities are exaggerating the effects of these treatments, marketing them as 'miracle skills' capable of 'purifying blood.' The Commission clarified that plasma exchange is a purification therapy for specific severe illnesses, while ozone therapy is intended for pain and inflammation management.
Authorities warned that performing these procedures on healthy people can disrupt internal homeostasis, cause physiological dysfunction, and increase the risk of infection. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious or exaggerated medical claims to local public security, health, or market supervision departments.
