Thai stock market climbs for second day, SET index tops 1,590 points

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) closed higher for a second consecutive session, gaining 13.43 points (0.85%) to finish at 1,591.24. Gains were broad‑based across food, consumer, finance, resources, services and technology sectors, with 260 stocks advancing and 169 falling.

Global market sentiment was upbeat, helped by falling oil prices and continued strength in technology shares. U.S. indices also rose, with the Dow up 136.46 points, the Nasdaq climbing 393.57 points and the S&P 500 gaining 58.93 points. Semiconductor stocks led the tech rally, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 3.9%.

Crude oil prices slipped amid mixed signals over a potential U.S.–Iran talks, with West Texas Intermediate down $1.29 to $69.46 a barrel.
