China's TP200 unmanned aircraft completes 24‑hour high‑altitude test

A multifunctional unmanned aerial vehicle named TP200, developed by the Chinese firm Yitong, successfully completed a 24‑hour continuous flight in Shandong province. The drone reached an altitude of 7,600 m, cruised at 200 km/h and demonstrated take‑off and landing on runways as short as 300 m, including unpaved surfaces.

The modular design allows the TP200 to be configured for maritime patrol, coastal search and rescue, drought monitoring, forest‑fire fighting, ecological mapping and delivery of supplies to remote islands or mountainous areas. Chinese officials presented the trial as a major step forward for the civil drone market, noting its potential dual‑use capabilities and its relevance amid U.S. export restrictions on advanced components.
