China's Trade with Angola and Algeria Exceeds $9 B in First Half of 2025

China reported that trade with Angola reached $10.8 billion in the first six months of 2025, accounting for half of the year's total bilateral commerce. Chinese Ambassador to Angola Zhang Bin said the volume is expected to surpass the previous year’s total and highlighted increased high‑level parliamentary visits and a surge in Chinese investment interest.

In Algeria, trade with China exceeded $9 billion in the first half of 2026, a 28.3% year‑on‑year rise, with Algerian exports to China jumping 111.6% to $980 million. Ambassador Dong Guangli noted that China is on track to become Algeria’s top trading partner, citing cumulative Chinese investments of about $7 billion and new tariff‑free access for African products introduced in May 2026.
