China's Yinwang Helps Draft UN Global Autonomous‑Driving Regulation (ADS GTR)

On 22‑26 June 2026, the United Nations World Forum for Vehicle Regulations (UN/WP.29) convened its 199th plenary session in Geneva, Switzerland. Representatives from China, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Japan jointly drafted and voted to adopt the world's first global technical regulation for autonomous‑driving systems (ADS GTR), establishing safety, testing and documentation standards for Level‑3 and Level‑4 vehicles.

Chinese firm Yinwang served as a core member of China’s expert group and participated throughout the regulatory drafting, submitting technical proposals and supporting cross‑border technical discussions. Working with Huawei’s Qiankun intelligent‑driving solution, Yinwang has equipped more than 1.9 million production vehicles, logging over 12.8 billion km of assisted‑driving mileage and achieving safety performance roughly 4.9 times the domestic average. The company is also among the first domestic suppliers to obtain Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) approval for L3 conditional autonomous‑driving products and will continue pilot deployments under MIIT guidance.
