Chincha suspends anniversary festivities due to insecurity

The Provincial Municipality of Chincha has unanimously decided to cancel major anniversary celebrations, including commercial fairs, concerts, public shows, mechanical games, and the 'Vive Chincha' event. The decision was made during an extraordinary session of the Provincial Council, led by Mayor Silvia Barrios.

The suspension follows a surge in citizen insecurity, exacerbated by the homicide of the person in charge of installing the local fair at the designated event site. While mass recreational and commercial activities are canceled, institutional protocol acts and austere cultural activities will proceed as scheduled.
