Katsina United denies rumors of Chinedu Ozor showing signs of life after death

Katsina United has issued a formal statement to debunk rumors regarding the death of their 27-year-old defender, Chinedu Ozor. The player collapsed during a pre-season friendly against Niger Tornadoes at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on August 11.

Following the collapse, Ozor was rushed to K-Dara Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him dead. However, widespread reports and social media speculation suggested that Ozor showed signs of life, such as moving his hand, while being transported to the morgue. Some reports even claimed he was returned to intensive care.

The club clarified that these reports are inaccurate and misleading. Katsina United explained that the confusion arose after the player's family requested additional medical checks before the body was moved to the mortuary. The club emphasized that despite all efforts, Ozor has passed away and urged the public to stop spreading false information during this period of mourning.
