Chinese actresses gain acclaim for standout supporting roles

Several Chinese actresses are gaining significant recognition for their acting abilities in supporting roles, often overshadowing lead performers.

Zheng He Hui Zi has received widespread praise for her performance in the historical drama ‘Lan Xiang Ru Gu’, where her portrayal of Du Thuy Tuoc was noted for its emotional depth and complexity, even surpassing the attention given to lead actress Tan Tong Yun. Her performance in the 2024 series ‘Hua Jian Ling’ also garnered acclaim, leading to a significant increase in her social media following.

Similarly, Chen Du Ling has made a notable impact through guest and supporting roles. Despite appearing in fewer projects, her visual presence and performances, such as her role in ‘Chang Yue Jin Ming’, have left a lasting impression on audiences.
