Chinese Ambassador Li Ming visits Novi Pazar

Chinese Ambassador to Serbia, Li Ming, conducted his first official visit to Novi Pazar, meeting with local officials including Mayor Nihat Biševac and President of the City Assembly Samir Lekić. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in economy, education, culture, and tourism, as well as exploring the city's development potential.

Following the meeting, Samir Lekić addressed public speculation regarding the mining area of Rogozna. He denied that mining research or the Strickland Metals project were discussed during the meeting, stating, “Rogozna was not the topic of conversation with the Chinese ambassador, nor was there a single word about that topic during the meeting.”

The denial follows demands for transparency from the citizen group “Ne damo Rogoznu,” which requested official confirmation on whether diplomatic interests in the region's mineral resources were part of the talks. The group emphasized that decisions regarding the future of Rogozna should not be made behind closed doors.
