Indonesia crypto investors shift toward long-term strategies

The Indonesian crypto asset industry is entering a more mature phase as investor mindsets shift from chasing rapid price increases toward measured investment strategies. Investors are increasingly prioritizing risk management, portfolio diversification, and long-term planning.

According to data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) as of July 2026, the number of crypto investors in Indonesia has reached 22.93 million, a group largely dominated by Millennials and Gen Z. While assets like Bitcoin and stablecoins (such as USDT, USDGO, and XAUT) are gaining popularity for portfolio balance, experts warn of ongoing risks including price volatility, liquidity issues, and regulatory changes.

Ivan Arilito, President Director of OSL Indonesia, emphasized the necessity for investors to conduct independent research and align decisions with their specific risk profiles. Despite the industry's growth, challenges remain regarding financial literacy and risk management among the rising young investor population.
