BYD unveils eight new models at Goodwood Festival, featuring Denza D9 and Dolphin G
Chinese automaker BYD used the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 9‑12) as a major European showcase, occupying a 2,016 m² stand and presenting eight new vehicles across its BYD, Denza and Yangwang marques. The debut included the global launch of the Denza Z Coupé and Z Racing, both fully electric, and the UK launch of the Denza Z9GT/D9 DM‑i premium MPV. The D9 is a seven‑seat model delivering 353 hp, 210 km electric range and ultra‑fast 559 kW charging capability. BYD also introduced the Dolphin G DM‑i plug‑in hybrid for the British market, offering up to 1,040 km combined range with two battery options (7.4 kWh for ~40 km electric, 18.3 kWh for ~105 km electric). The Shark pickup, equipped with a 435 hp dual‑mode off‑road system, accelerates from 0‑100 km/h in 5.7 s and can tow 2.5 t. Yangwang’s luxury line featured the record‑breaking U9 Xtreme supercar (496 km/h top speed), the U8L amphibious SUV and the U7 sedan. Together the launches underline BYK’s strategy to expand its presence in Europe with a diversified portfolio spanning city cars, hybrids, pickups and high‑performance models.
