Chinese automakers Chery and Xpeng unveil details of upcoming electric SUVs

Chery Automobile's iCAUR V23 electric SUV was spotted undisguised in India, showing a mid‑size 4.2‑metre body, an open grille and distinctive glass strips. The model is offered with two powertrains – a dual‑motor AWD version producing 208 bhp and a 2WD version with 134 bhp – and claimed ranges of up to 430 km (AWD) and 360 km (2WD). Interior features include a 15.4‑inch QHD touchscreen, column‑mounted drive selector and front‑centre cup holders.

Xpeng announced its upcoming Mona L03 electric SUV, highlighting an exceptionally low drag coefficient of Cd 0.228 achieved through a coupe‑like stance, wide curved rear windshield and streamlined surfaces. The 4.65‑metre vehicle is expected to be offered in both BEV and extended‑range variants, with 56 kWh and 69 kWh LFP battery packs delivering roughly 505–650 km on the CLTC cycle (about 400–530 km WLTP). Power is supplied by a 183 kW single motor, and top speed is projected at 180 km/h. The model follows Xpeng’s successful Mona M03 sedan and is slated for launch in the coming months.
