Chinese automakers gain market share in Poland
A report by OTOMOTO titled ‘Faktor E’ reveals that Chinese automotive brands are significantly expanding their presence in the Polish market, now accounting for nearly 16 percent of all new passenger car registrations. This shift presents increased competition for European manufacturers and offers consumers more variety regarding pricing and equipment.
Despite the rise of Chinese brands, the adoption of fully electric vehicles (EVs) remains limited, representing only 4.5 percent of new registrations in Poland. While consumers are becoming more open to electromobility due to EU regulations and subsidies, concerns have shifted. Rather than focusing solely on price, range, or charger availability, buyers are increasingly concerned with battery durability and long-term performance.
The secondary market for electric vehicles in Poland is expected to grow within the next 18 months as company and fleet-operated EVs enter the used car segment. Meanwhile, infrastructure is evolving, with gas stations transitioning into multi-fuel hubs and public sectors, such as the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis and Polish Airports, expanding their use of electric and hydrogen-powered transport.
