Chinese automotive brands drive growth in Spain and Colombia

The global expansion of Chinese automotive brands is driving significant growth in different markets. In Spain, Marcos Automoción reported a 25% increase in revenue, reaching 1,228 million euros last year. This growth is attributed to the incorporation of Chinese brands such as Geely, BYD, and Chagan into its portfolio, alongside the expansion of facilities in cities like Valencia. The company now manages approximately 120 dealerships across Valencia, Alicante, Murcia, and Almería.

In Colombia, the premium electric vehicle market is seeing new competition as Arcfox, a division of the Chinese BAIC Group, enters the country. Represented exclusively by Magma Automotive, the brand launched with an initial investment of approximately US$25 million. The initial lineup includes the T1 compact SUV, the T5 medium SUV, and the S5 sedan, offering various battery capacities and driving ranges.
