Chinese Canadian community donates $20,000 for Okanagan wildfire relief

The Chinese Canadian community in Metro Vancouver has donated more than $20,000 to assist residents affected by wildfires in the Okanagan region.

The Canadian Alliance of Chinese Associations (CACA) contributed $10,000 to United Way BC, while the Feng Hong Family Foundation provided an additional $5,000. In addition to the monetary donations, the organizations raised and transported over $5,000 worth of supplies to Penticton to support local relief efforts.

Fei Liu, Executive Director of the OCCA Communities Association, coordinated the donation. Yuanzheng Chu, president of the CACA, stated that the mobilization was a response to the devastating fires in the Interior and part of a commitment to giving back to Canadian society.
