Chinese car makers push into Europe with Leapmotor B05 launch and low‑cost leasing deals

Leapmotor, a Chinese electric‑vehicle start‑up, unveiled its new compact hatchback B05 in the Frankfurt area. The B05 is a rear‑wheel‑drive model priced at about 620,000 CZK, featuring a 56.2 kWh or 67.1 kWh battery, 160 kW power output and dimensions that exceed those of a VW Golf. Test‑drive impressions note its spacious cabin, digital infotainment and modest luggage capacity.

In the Czech Republic, Chinese manufacturers such as Chery, BYD, MG and XPeng are entering the operational‑leasing market with models priced several thousand crowns per month cheaper than comparable domestic brands. The leasing focus targets families and small businesses, offering vehicles like the Chery Tiggo 8 and MG 3 at competitive rates. While Chinese cars are gaining traction among retail customers, corporate fleets remain hesitant due to service‑network concerns.
