Chinese car repairs face longer delays in Poland
Polish insurers report that while Chinese car brands are not being excluded from coverage, owners face significantly longer repair times. Data from PZU indicates that while the average cost of collision damage (AC) for Chinese vehicles is approximately 11% lower than for comparable brands, owners utilize replacement vehicles for a much longer duration.
On average, Chinese car owners use replacement vehicles for 19.4 days, compared to 12.5 days for other brands—a 56% increase. Insurers attribute these delays to difficulties in sourcing spare parts, a lack of technical documentation, missing paint formulas, and the need for specialized equipment to calibrate driver assistance systems.
