LEPAS expands globally with new L6 EV and L8 PHEV launches
Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. reported that its cumulative global sales have exceeded 20 million units, earning a No. 87 spot on the 2026 Fortune China 500 list and the top return‑on‑equity ranking among automakers. The company also topped the Kantar BrandZ Top 50 Chinese Global Brand Builders in the automotive category for the ninth year running.
Its mid‑to‑premium NEV brand, LEPAS, began a rapid international rollout in July 2026. The all‑electric LEPAS L6 SUV was launched in Thailand on 24 July, while the plug‑in hybrid LEPAS L8 entered the Indonesian market on 26 July. LEPAS plans to add the L8 PHEV, L6 PHEV and L4 EV to Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, Africa and the Middle East during the third quarter of 2026.
The new models showcase the brand’s “Leopard Aesthetics” design language and a proprietary LEPAS Super Hybrid system, combining advanced hybrid technology with sleek, sport‑inspired styling for customers seeking intelligent and elegant mobility worldwide.
