Chinese commuter travels 160 km daily while performing side deliveries

Lin, a 28-year-old office worker in China, has gained social media attention for his daily 160 km round-trip commute. Living in Huanghu, Hangzhou, Lin travels over 80 km each way to his job as an electricity meter inspector.

To manage the distance and costs, Lin utilizes an electric vehicle, which keeps his monthly fuel expenses to approximately 200 NDT. To supplement his income and offset travel costs, he uses ride-sharing platforms and delivers groceries and other goods from his hometown to the city, provided the deliveries are along his existing route.

Lin decided to move back to Huanghu three years ago following his wife's pregnancy, choosing to maintain his current job despite the long commute rather than seeking employment closer to home.
