Chinese companies expand industrial presence in Italy
Chinese companies are expanding their industrial footprint in Italy through different strategic sectors. BYD, the electric vehicle giant, has indicated that Italy is not a primary candidate for its new European production plant due to concerns regarding regulatory predictability, fiscal conditions, and competitiveness. However, the company views Italy as a “plan B” and intends to strengthen its commercial presence, specifically aiming to enter the top three of the Italian market with its premium brand, Denza.
In the biomedical sector, the Tianyi Medical Group has acquired the former Bellco facility in Mirandola through the Sino-Swedish company NorrDia. This acquisition aims to save the production site and relaunch industrial activity by increasing filter production and developing international trade between Europe and China. The move integrates the Bellco brand into an international platform to consolidate presence in existing European markets and expand into emerging Asian markets.
