Chinese Consulate in Alexandria celebrates 77th National Day

The Chinese Consulate General in Alexandria held celebrations to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The event was attended by Chinese Consul General Xue Min, Alexandria Governor Ayman Attia, and officials from the Library of Alexandria and Alexandria University.

During the ceremony, Consul General Xue Min highlighted the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China, noting that the relationship serves as a model for cooperation between developing nations. He noted that since May 1, China has applied comprehensive customs exemptions on imports from African nations with diplomatic ties, including Egypt. Economic data presented indicated that Egyptian exports to China rose by 109.8% during the first half of 2026, with Chinese investments in Egypt totaling approximately $10 billion through over 3,000 companies.

The celebration included a photo exhibition featuring approximately 40 images documenting Chinese culture, development, and landmarks, alongside images of Alexandria and ongoing Chinese projects in Egypt. The event also featured Chinese artistic performances to promote cultural exchange between the two nations.
