Chinese couple discovers shared presence in 2000 photograph

A married couple from Chengdu, China, discovered they appeared in the same photograph nearly 20 years before meeting. The couple, who have been married for five years, realized that they were both present at May Fourth Square in Qingdao in July 2000.

While the wife was posing for a photo with her mother, the husband was captured as a background figure in the shot. The discovery occurred when the husband was looking through his wife’s childhood photos at her mother’s house. After verifying his own travel photos from that same period, he confirmed they were at the same location at the same time as strangers.
