Chinese driver injured in pickup truck crash near Pattaya

A 55-year-old Chinese man, identified as Mr. Huang, sustained injuries after crashing a black Toyota pickup truck into a high-voltage electricity pole in the Huai Yai subdistrict near Pattaya on August 31.

According to Huai Yai police, the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. A witness reported that the vehicle appeared to slow down before suddenly accelerating into the utility pole. The collision caused heavy damage to the front of the truck and ruptured a nearby water pipe.

Local residents pulled Huang from the wreckage before emergency responders arrived. Police noted that the driver appeared extremely intoxicated, was speaking incoherently, and seemed barely conscious. Rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation treated him for facial swelling and cuts before he was taken to the Huai Yai Police Station for further investigation.
