Thailand: Four Myanmar workers arrested for killing Chinese employer
Four Myanmar nationals, consisting of two married couples, have surrendered to police in Chon Buri, Thailand, following a fatal dispute at a construction site in Bangkok.
The incident occurred on the evening of October 27 in the Lat Krabang district. According to investigators, the victim, 39-year-old Chinese employer Yang Zhongshu, was distributing wages to approximately 60 workers when a dispute arose regarding work quality and resignation notices. The suspects allegedly attacked Yang with a steel rod and a knife, resulting in his death, while a 49-year-old Chinese companion was seriously injured.
Following the attack, the suspects fled with between 40,000 and 50,000 baht in cash. After a five-hour manhunt involving over 100 police officers, local officials, and rescue volunteers, the suspects emerged from a large sugarcane field in the Phanat Nikhom district. Authorities utilized thermal imaging drones to surround the area. The suspects reportedly confessed to the crime during preliminary questioning and have been transferred to the Lat Krabang police station for further investigation.
