Chinese entrepreneurs support Mexican national diving team

Entrepreneurs from Cantón Asociados have recognized the Mexican national diving team and coach Ma Jin for their performance at the 2026 Santo Domingo Central American and Caribbean Games. This initiative aims to strengthen ties between the Chinese business community in Mexico and the nation's highly successful diving program.

The support comes at a critical stage of the Olympic cycle as athletes prepare for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The high-performance program seeks to increase private investment to expand resources for training, international competitions, and athlete scholarships.

The connection between Mexican diving and the Chinese school of training is highlighted by the work of Ma Jin, a coach of Chinese origin. Notable athletes include Olympic medalist Osmar Olvera, who recently won the three-meter springboard title at the 2025 Singapore Aquatics World Championships, and Juan Manuel Celaya. Other team members include Alejandra Estudillo, Randal Willars, Rut Páez, Zyanya Parra, Adriana Torres, and Emilio Treviño.
