Chinese Film 'Dear You' Gets North American Theatrical Release

Director Lan Hongchun’s drama DEAR YOU, which became the second‑highest‑grossing Chinese film of the year, tells the story of a debt‑riddled grandson who travels to Thailand to locate his missing grandfather and uncover a legacy of love tied to the traditional qiaopi remittance system. The film highlights the Teochew (Chaoshan) diaspora and the cultural history of overseas Chinese migrants.

Well Go USA Entertainment announced a theatrical rollout in the United States and Canada on September 4. “We’re honored to bring DEAR YOU to North American audiences following its extraordinary success in China,” said Doris Pfardrescher, president and CEO of the distributor.
