Chinese firms unveil Qiyuan T1 transformable robot and UBTECH's UWORLD U1 companion humanoid

Qiyuan Robotics, a brand of Sino Composite, announced the Qiyuan T1 on 14 July 2026 as the world’s first transformable personal robot. The device can shift between a wheeled humanoid posture and a four‑legged quadruped using a "Transformer Cross‑Form Integrated Architecture" that couples large‑scale AI models with a reconfigurable chassis. Demonstrations showed autonomous form selection, zero‑radius turns, and balance recovery after a tabletop drop. The robot is slated for a public debut at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, with no price or sale date disclosed.

UBTECH Robotics introduced the UWORLD U1, marketed as the first mass‑produced humanoid companion robot intended to alleviate loneliness. The robot features 88 servo joints, roughly 300 micro‑facial expressions, silicone skin with realistic wrinkles, and lip‑synchronised speech. Available in semi‑torso and full‑body versions, it aims to provide emotional support, prompting scientific and ethical debate about AI companionship. UBTECH suggests that mass production could soon make such personal robots commonplace.
