Chinese firms unveil warehouse humanoid and transformable personal robots at WAIC 2026

At the World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2026 in Shanghai, JD Logistics and Zhiyuan Robotics introduced the "Spirit G2 Max" heavy‑duty humanoid robot. Designed for inbound warehouse tasks such as unloading, handling and stacking, the robot features dual arms, a high‑load control system and 24‑hour continuous operation, aiming to reduce manual labor and increase efficiency in JD’s intelligent warehouse network.

During the same event, Lens Technology subsidiary Lansi Smart Robot (Changsha) and Shangwei New Materials signed an agreement to build a production line capable of delivering up to ten thousand units of the Q1 and T1 robots. The T1 model is described as the world’s first transformable personal robot, able to switch between bipedal standing, quadrupedal walking and wheeled movement, and equipped with force‑control, voice interaction, memory functions and programmable skills. The partnership will focus on precision component manufacturing, joint modules and full‑machine assembly to bring the robots to mass production.
