Chinese humanoid robots perform Saudi Ardah dance in Riyadh

Chinese-made humanoid robots performed the traditional Saudi Ardah sword dance during a reception in Riyadh to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The event, hosted by the Chinese Embassy at the Cultural Palace in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter, featured bipedal robots dressed in traditional Saudi attire, including thobes and ghutras.

The performance included synchronized rhythmic movements and sword gestures characteristic of the Najdi Ardah, a UNESCO-listed folkloric dance. High-ranking officials attended the ceremony, including Riyadh Region Mayor Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf and Chinese Ambassador Chang Hua. Ambassador Chang Hua noted that the robots provided “stunning performances that left a profound impression” on the attendees.
