Chinese influencer accused of faking 1 million NDT flood donation

A Chinese social media influencer known as Anlan is facing backlash after allegedly falsifying a donation to flood relief efforts in Guangxi. On July 17, the influencer posted a screenshot claiming to have donated 1 million NDT (approximately 3.9 billion VND) to the Guangxi Red Cross Society to assist in post-disaster reconstruction.

The post initially gained significant traction, earning thousands of likes and increasing the account's followers to over 31,000. However, the Guangxi Red Cross Society informed media outlets that they had no record of a 1 million NDT donation from any individual on that date.

Records from the organization show that while several small donations of 1 NDT were made on July 17, the bank account details associated with those transactions do not match the information provided by Anlan. The controversy follows severe flooding in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which has resulted in at least 159 deaths.
