Chinese manufacturers expand in Europe amid regulatory scrutiny

Sany Renewable Energy installed its first European wind turbine, a 6.25 MW SI‑172 model, at a hybrid project for Grupo Jorge in Zuera, Zaragoza, marking the Chinese firm’s initial entry into the mature Spanish market.

At the same time, Chinese‑made vehicles have been gaining market share across Europe, especially in the electric and plug‑in hybrid segments. The European Automobile Manufacturers Association reports a steady rise in registrations, prompting the European Commission to consider possible countermeasures such as higher tariffs or stricter technical requirements to protect domestic auto producers.
