Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong to launch 24-hour inpatient care
The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) will launch 24-hour inpatient services on December 11. The initial phase of this expansion will provide 93 regular inpatient beds, including 60 beds under government subsidy and 33 market-oriented beds.
Government-subsidized inpatient services will be offered at an all-inclusive rate of 980 HKD per day, covering accommodation, physician visits, Chinese medicine treatments, general examinations, and basic medication. Market-oriented services will follow a tiered pricing model based on ward and physician levels. The hospital aims to expand its total capacity to 400 beds by the end of 2030.
The Health Bureau has confirmed that the hospital's inpatient services will be covered under the Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme. Insurance companies are expected to roll out specific Chinese medicine plans starting in phases from March 2027. The hospital also plans to introduce several specialized disease programs throughout the year to enhance its clinical offerings.
