Chinese motorcycle brands gain significant market share in Spain
Chinese motorcycle brands are capturing a significant portion of the Spanish market, particularly in the Galicia region. According to data from Anesdor and ACEM, Spain is experiencing high growth in motorcycle registrations, trailing only Germany in European growth rates.
In Spain, Chinese-made vehicles account for 45% of the most commercialized scooters and 40% of the most commercialized motorcycles. In Galicia, brands such as Zontes, Kymco, Sym, Voge, and QJ Motor represent nearly half of the top ten best-selling brands. This shift is attributed to competitive pricing and engine options compared to traditional Japanese, Italian, or European manufacturers.
In Galicia, the sector for motorcycles and light vehicles saw 6,145 units sold through July, a 25% increase compared to the same period last year. Growth was recorded across all provinces, with Pontevedra leading in volume, followed by A Coruña, Ourense, and Lugo.
