Chinese Robot Vacuums Collect Data from Spanish Homes

Chinese manufacturers dominate Spain's robot‑vacuum market, with Roborock, Ecovacs, Dreame, Xiaomi and Narwal accounting for 57.4% of sector revenue. The devices map households using laser and AI‑driven cameras, then store floor‑plan data, furniture locations and sometimes images on the companies’ cloud servers.

Lidl has entered the segment with a low‑cost Silvercrest 2‑in‑1 robot vacuum priced at €189.99. It features laser navigation, five cleaning modes and mobile‑app control, and will be sold in stores only between 27 July and 2 August.
