Chinese robotics firm Unitree unveils advanced quadruped and humanoid robots
Unitree, a Chinese robotics company, introduced the AS2‑W quadruped robot, which combines articulated legs with seven‑inch wheels. It can continuously carry up to 16 kg, travel more than 30 km on a charge, climb obstacles up to 80 cm high and negotiate slopes of 45 degrees. The company positions the platform for inspection, logistics and emergency tasks, while noting its potential for battlefield resupply and reconnaissance. The U.S. Army has already examined similar quadruped systems for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
In a separate presentation, Unitree showcased a humanoid robot equipped with an omni‑modal artificial‑intelligence system that processes voice, vision, navigation and motor control in parallel. This unified architecture eliminates the delays of previous modular designs, allowing real‑time responses for domestic chores and hospital assistance. The new AI framework, described as embodied AI, enables the robot to adapt instantly to changing environments and user commands.
