Chinese robotics firms unveil emotional AI and human-sized robotic hands

Chinese robotics companies are advancing humanoid capabilities through emotional simulation and improved dexterity. Yanxi Technology has developed the Yansyn-X2, a robot designed to mimic human emotions. Utilizing medically synthesized silicone and artificial intelligence, the robot can perform facial expressions such as crying via synthetic tears. Its architecture allows it to track people, turn its head, and respond with various gestures to facilitate more natural human interaction.

In parallel, Unitree has introduced the Dex5-S, a robotic hand designed to be approximately the same size as a human hand. The model features 22 degrees of freedom and weighs 620 grams, making it 44% lighter than previous iterations. Designed for developers, the hand includes impact torque protection at each joint to allow for more flexible and controlled grasping. The Dex5-S is being offered at a starting price of $6,500.
