Chinese Taipei men's basketball advances to Asian Games quarterfinals
The Chinese Taipei men's basketball team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Games after a decisive 91-69 victory over Qatar. The team secured second place in Group B with a 2-1 preliminary record.
Chinese Taipei dominated the game through superior perimeter shooting, converting 17 of 43 three-point attempts for a 40% success rate. Lin Ting-chien led the scoring with 21 points, including five three-pointers, while Lu Chun-hsiang contributed 17 points, highlighted by a 14-point fourth quarter. Other key contributors included Raymond, who scored 14 points, and naturalized center Brandon Gilbeck, who added 12 points and 9 rebounds.
Qatar was eliminated from the tournament following the loss. In Group B, Iran finished first with a 2-1 record, while Chinese Taipei takes the second seed to move into the knockout stage.
