Chinese tourist dies in Phuket hotel swimming pool
A 44-year-old Chinese tourist, identified as Ye, died on August 17 after being found unresponsive in a hotel swimming pool in Phuket, Thailand. Ye was vacationing with his family from August 16 to August 22.
The incident occurred when Ye's daughter discovered him standing motionless in the approximately two-meter-deep pool. Nearby foreign swimmers attempted to assist by pulling him to the edge and performing CPR before an ambulance transported him to Patong Hospital. Medical staff reported that Ye passed away at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Patong Police have launched an investigation, which included inspecting the hotel and photographing the scene. The body has been transferred to the forensic department at Vajira Phuket Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities are also coordinating with the Chinese Embassy in Thailand to manage the necessary procedures for the deceased.
