Chinese university students win awards in national competitions

Students from various Chinese universities have achieved significant success in several national-level competitions during the summer period.

At the 3rd Plastic Engineering Practice and Innovation Competition, held at Dalian University of Technology, students from the Harbin Institute of Technology's School of Materials won two first prizes, four second prizes, and two third prizes. The competition, part of the 2026 China University Mechanical Engineering Innovation and Creativity Competition, involved over 200 finalist teams nationwide.

In Guangzhou, students from the Guangdong University of Technology's School of Automation and Electrical Engineering secured a national second prize in the 3D Digital Design Interactive Design category and a third prize in the Humanoid Kung Fu Combat category at the 25th National University Robot Competition (ROBOTAC).

Additionally, students from the Star Ocean Music Institute's School of Popular Music swept the gold awards in both categories of the 2026 “Beautiful Melody Never Forgotten” Cantonese Classic Song Competition held in Dongguan. Meanwhile, the South China University of Technology women's basketball team achieved a third-place finish in the 28th CUBAL China University Basketball League national finals.
