Chino Hills kidnapping ends with victim shot in trunk as deputies fire
In late July 2026, a kidnapping in Chino Hills, California, culminated in a fatal shooting inside a car trunk. Victim Shukur Aikebaer, 60, was lured from his home on Monteverde Drive after a power outage, shot, and forced into the trunk of a Nissan Altima with Oregon plates. The driver, 67‑year‑old Zhengfeng Bo of Irvine, shot Aikebaer again while the vehicle was stopped by San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies on Wandering Ridge Drive. Deputies responded with gunfire, killing Bo; Aikebaer also died at the scene. A third suspect, 66‑year‑old Jianquan Bo, also of Irvine, surrendered and was taken into custody on murder and kidnapping charges. Investigators executed a search warrant at the Bo residence in Irvine, recovering additional evidence. No deputies were injured, and officials said there was no ongoing threat to the community.
