Chio factory in Győr hit by industrial fire
A large fire broke out at the Chio factory located on Hűtőház Street in Győr, Hungary, after oil leaked from a machine. The spilled oil, covering approximately twenty square meters, ignited rapidly, causing flames to reach the roof structure and insulation near the chimney.
Emergency responders utilized powder extinguishers and two foam water jets to contain the blaze. Firefighters also had to dismantle part of the roof structure to fully extinguish the fire and used special foam to cover the oil layer before pumping it into safe collection containers.
Approximately 95 workers were present in the facility at the time of the incident. All employees evacuated the building immediately and disciplinedly before firefighters arrived. No injuries have been reported.
