Chioggia Vela concludes 15th edition with Artemisia winning main trophy

The 15th edition of Chioggia Vela has concluded in Chioggia, Italy, marking a successful weekend of sailing competitions, youth engagement, and maritime culture. The event was organized by the Circolo Nautico Chioggia and the Municipality of Chioggia, in collaboration with Pro Loco Chioggia Sottomarina and Velaveneta.

During the main Trofeo Chioggia Vela, 45 boats competed in light wind conditions. The vessel Artemisia secured line honours and the overall trophy with a time of 1h 29′ 34″. Other notable winners included Obi Wan, which took the Trofeo Corazza in the Cruise category, and Asiatyco, which won the Meteor al Crepuscolo.

A new addition to the program, the ChioggiaVela Derive, featured 35 boats including young and master athletes, with Giulio Borsatti winning in the ILCA 6 category. The event also included a social meeting for Davide Besana to present ‘Salpiamo’, a manual supporting the Sailors for Kids project, which aims to bring sailing to youth in underserved urban areas.
