Chios Festival Marks 5-Year Milestone with Global Scholars and Artists

The Chios Festival, a cultural programme hosted across venues on the Greek island of Chios, celebrates its fifth anniversary with a series of events from 25 August to 4 September. The festival, organised under the auspices of UNESCO and the American‑Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, will feature concerts, theatrical performances and documentary screenings.

High‑profile guests include Pope Francis, Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and all of Africa, Greek Parliament President Nikitas Kaklamanis, and Academy of Athens President Nikiforos Diamantourous. The programme also showcases leading academics such as Olle Kämpe (President of the 2025 Nobel Medicine Committee), Stamatios Krimizis, Maria Euthymiou, Alexandra Touroutoglou, and others from institutions like Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Cambridge and the University of Geneva. The festival aims to combine scientific dialogue, artistic expression and cultural heritage in a multi‑disciplinary celebration.
