ChipAgents raises $60M to speed AI‑driven chip design in partnership with Nvidia
ChipAgents, a Santa Clara‑based semiconductor‑design startup, announced a $60 million Series A financing round that brings its total funding to $131 million. The round was led by B Capital and included investors Micron, MediaTek and Ericsson.
The company’s software uses AI agents—programs that can make decisions and execute complex tasks with little human oversight—to automate and accelerate the costly, years‑long chip‑design process, which can run into hundreds of millions of dollars. CEO William Wang told Reuters that the AI‑agent platform has delivered “the biggest progress in design thanks to software designed to help verify whether the chip will function as intended,” adding that it largely ensures “there are no errors.”
ChipAgents also expanded its strategic collaboration with Nvidia to develop a specialized AI model focused on semiconductor design, further bolstering its effort to cut design time and expense.
