Chipotle Offers Free Chips and Guacamole for National Avocado Day

Chipotle Mexican Grill ran a two‑day promotion for National Avocado Day, giving customers a free side of chips and guacamole with any full‑priced entrée purchased through its app using code AVO2026. The offer was available from Friday, July 31, through Saturday, Aug. 1. Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing Stephanie Perdue said the promotion was designed so “one day simply isn’t enough for something this extra.” The chain’s guacamole is hand‑mashed daily from 48 ripe Hass avocados and six simple ingredients.

The promotion comes as Chipotle expands internationally, having opened its first restaurant in Mexico on July 16 in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, in partnership with Alsea. CEO Scott Boatwright highlighted strong local interest in the brand’s customized, fresh‑food concept.

Meanwhile, the broader National Avocado Day celebrations include the Art of Catering Food event (Aug 10‑11) that promotes avocados as a versatile, gluten‑free, vegan‑friendly ingredient. The California Avocado Commission supplied recipe ideas showcasing how the fruit can be used across courses, from appetizers to desserts, emphasizing its nutritional benefits and share‑worthy appearance.
