Chippio launches digitalized energy services in Spain

Chippio, a Spanish energy startup backed by the Nordic energy giant Fortum, is introducing a digitalized approach to electricity services in the Iberian Peninsula, the Balearic Islands, and the Canary Islands. The company aims to provide greater transparency and consumer control through a fully digital model without physical offices.

Chippio offers two primary tariff structures without any commitment periods. The ‘Tarifa Transparente’ (Transparent Tariff) allows users to pay the wholesale market price (OMIE) on an hourly basis, charging only a monthly fee of €3.90 plus VAT without adding a margin to the kWh. The ‘Tarifa Constante’ (Constant Tariff) provides a fixed price of €0.109/kWh regardless of the time of day, though it lacks some of the advanced technological tools available in the app.
