Chiquichef Cooking Workshops for Children Launch in Segovia Towns

The 'Chiquichef' program began on 31 July in Gomezserracín, offering interactive cooking workshops for children across four towns in the Segovia province of Spain. The initiative, promoted by the regional government’s Rural Development Office, aims to teach nutrition, food origins, and healthy habits through games, puzzles, and simulated market activities. Participants complete challenges to earn ingredients for simple recipes such as cucumber boats and toast snacks, fostering autonomy and enjoyment of food preparation.

The workshops, scheduled in Trescasas (4 August), Fuentidueña (7 August) and Marazuela (11 August), are led by dietitian‑nutritionist Sandra Gómez and health psychologist Sara Jiménez, with support from local officials. Organisers stress the importance of instilling good eating habits early and making nutrition education fun for a healthier province.
