Chiquinquirá stabbing attack leaves one dead and two injured

A stabbing attack in Chiquinquirá, Boyacá, resulted in the death of a 70-year-old man and left two others injured. The victims were admitted to the Hospital Regional de Chiquinquirá during the early hours of Monday, October 19.

The elderly victim died following resuscitation attempts after suffering critical wounds to the precordial region. A 52-year-old woman was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with thoracic wounds and pulmonary involvement, while a 27-year-old man remains in stable condition after receiving treatment for wounds to his abdomen, back, and lower limbs.

Colonel James Totena Girón, commander of the Boyacá Police Department, confirmed that authorities have captured a suspect. The individual is facing judicial proceedings in coordination with the Prosecutor's Office for alleged crimes including theft, personal injury, and homicide.
